Consultancy Services
We bring our experience and skills to the workplace ? wherever it is
The NCCH team provides consultancy services in relation to health information management systems and education and training nationally and internationally. We have assisted clients and partners in many parts of the world to identify areas that may require enhancement or upgrade. We have established long term relationships with many clients and continue to liaise and communicate long after the contracted relationship has been fulfilled.
Much of this consultancy work is carried out at the request of the World Health Organization's Regional Offices.
The NCCH, through the WHO Western Pacific Collaborating Centre for the Family of International Classifications, has developed a sound reputation as developers of refined health classification systems, especially in the area of health intervention classification systems, which is not part of the WHO parent classification ICD-10.
The NCCH has a collaborative approach in assisting other countries that are upgrading or developing their health classification systems to identify how best to allocate resources to attain the best quality health data.
Our experience varies widely, dependant upon the client organisation's needs. We have cooperatively worked with clients, such as Ireland, to implement ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS as an off-the-shelf solution. Ireland's clinical coders have readily adapted to coding using the electronic version of Australia?s classification system, eBook.
Other clients we have assisted have no national mandate for classification of health records. In these instances, we help to identify available resources and skills, and mentor development of systems to meet immediate needs, while keeping the longer-term goals in sight.
Some international clients have worked with the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, which issues the necessary Deeds of Agreement that permit international implementation, to develop international adaptations of the Australian-modified systems. Germany, Slovenia and Romania have negotiated licenses that permit modification and translation.
